Q:  What does a datalogger do?  Why should I buy one, and why from you?
A:  A datalogger is a great tuning tool for those who love to modify cars, and those who are just trynig to squeeze every last bit of HP out of the stock components.  Mirage Automotive dataloggers allow you to see exactly what your car's computer is seeing in real time.  Not only can you view over 20 engine parameters in graphical or digital mode, you can log them for analysis at a later point in time.  A built in log review screen allows you to go over your last run, or previous lap at the track.  These dataloggers can also reset your check engine light, and see what caused it to come on.  You can also run several tests on different solenoids across the car to test for problems.

Even if you are only mildly interested in tuning, a datalogger is a must-have.  You will not realize how much time it will save you in troubleshooting problems, or how much added HP you will gain from tuning your parts to their limit.

Mirage Automotive dataloggers are far superior to the competition.  We have implemented many features such as "auto-on" circuitry.  We are also one of the two only manufacturers in the industry to sell cables with OBDI plugs.  These plug directly into your diagnostic port, just like the dealer tools!  Check out the complete specs on our cables right here.

Q:  What do I need to get started?
A:  To begin datalogging you will need the following:
-Our datalogging cable and software here.
-A Palm (models supported). ONLY these models will work, this is a hardware issue
-Serial hotsync cable if using palm.  Cradles are fine, but palms pop out easily.

Q:  What cars are these dataloggers compatible with?
A:  Our Hybrid dataloggers are hardware compatible with the following cars:

-1994+ non OBDII Mitsubishi 3000GT Base, SL, and TT
-1994+ non OBDII Mitsubishi Galant VR-4
     -1994+ non OBDII Mitsubishi FTO
-Almost ALL 1994+ non OBDII Mitsubishi cars (List Pending)

-If your car is ONLY able to be logged/viewed with the dealer MUT-II scantool
and no other OBDII scanners work, this is the logger for your car!

Q:  What PDA's are compatible with these cables?
A:  Our dataloggers are hardware compatible with the following PDA's:

-Palm IIIe, IIIc, m1xx series, and m5xx series palms ONLY.

*Due to the complex hardware and software issues with the 94/95 cars, these
are the only palm models that will work.  We are currently working on support
for sony and handspring devices as well as laptops.  No ETA is available yet.

Q:  The datalogger will not connect, what's wrong?
A:  There are several conditions causing your datalogger not to connect:

-Make sure you have your car ON, or in the "ON" key position
-Make sure the OBDII plug is securely in the diagnostic port
-Make sure the other end is connected securely to the palm/laptop
-Make sure the software is compatible with your palm
-If you can still not get it to connect, please contact us here

Q:  My ABS light still comes on, what is the problem?
A:  Usually the light will defeat the "auto-on" circuitry if the following procedure is not
     followed:

-With the car off plug in your datalogger cable (or leave it plugged in)
-Turn the car on, or put the key into the "ON" position
-If you are using a palm, you can connect it before the car is on
-Turn your palm ON once the car is on
-Your ABS light should be OFF at this point
-Try and connect now to the car, your ABS light should stay off
-If you are still having problems, please contact us here

Q:  Will these dataloggers work on a PDA cell phone?
A:  Although PDA cell phones are NOT supported, some have been reported to work.
From information provided by an end user, the newest cell phone line with the
serial cable was capable of datalogging the car.  We have not personally tested
our product on any cell phones, and most likely will not in the future.
